Stylish royal cyclist

I'm now very bored of Prince William's face so here's a nice shot of easily the most stylish royal in a long time, Edward VIII, enjoying a nice bike ride.

Cycling jerseys - Shutt VR

The lighter evenings, warm sunshine and the fact I've almost finished rebuilding my road bike are making me long for a nice long ride in the countryside. However, I only have winter jerseys at the moment due to the fact that I started road cycling in October last year.

Really like this shirt from Shutt VR, it looks great, is made in the UK and made from Merino Wool so no nasty lycra.

They don't make them like this anymore

Really like the idea of having a front storage rack at the moment.

My new/old bike

This is my Raleigh Winner from 1984 after it's had a little lick of paint (still needs a bit of work). I think it's difficult to find stylish looking new road bikes nowadays so being a fan of lugged steel I decided to try and rejuvinate an old bike.

It used to look like this, not that exact bike as I forgot to take a before shot but that's the model.

It had an interesting black and silver colour way with glitter in the silver. A real treat. It also had a few newer after market editions which looked pretty shoddy so they've now all gone and I've scoured ebay for replacements. Hopefully once they are all back on it should look and ride pretty sweet and all for under £150.

'At the Ride In' - Eastside, Brimingham

Nimble are one of Birmingham's newest arts collective brought to life in part by the previously mentioned Jess, they 'aim to promote cultural movements such as the arts and leisure together in communities. Nimble love bikes.'

Their first event will be 'At the Ride In' on Wednesday April 20th, the night will be drawing on the romance of drive-in movies showing shorts and documentories about cycling, pinics and bike polo as well as some lively discussions I guess. The movies will start from 6pm and will be hosted in the current artistic installation, Burningham, at Curzon Street created by the French collective EXYZT

The night offers to be a great chance to meet some like minded Brummies, see some great films and enjoying the feeling you are taking part of something new. See you down there.

Velobici

I was lucky enough to get a pair of the above Velobici gloves for my anniversary today. They are very comfortable, breathable and super soft. After having a look at their site I think I might have found a new favourite cycling company and someone giving Rapha a run for their money.

In their own words they love:

Style (to look good is paramount.), riding, summertime, smooth roads, favourable winds.

I couldn't agree more. They also have some nice bike pics of stylish bicycles over on their facebook page.

Cycling picnic

A picnic in the park is made all the better by a nice cycle to build up an appetite.

Wooden mudguards

I really want a pair of these mudguards. But the only companies I can find are in the states. Don't think they stockthem in Halfords
